Warframe: Using Limbo post Rework


The other day, I decided to fire up Warframe on my Xbox one. The most recent update of Warframe, Octavias Anthem, had just hit consoles and I was anxious to use one of my favorite warframes, Limbo, after he had been readjusted. 


I find him amazingly fun. Unfortunately, I still accidentally banish other players and my cataclysm creates a huge void tear that kills just about every enemy in it instantly. Great for me, not so great for the folks playing with me though. :-/


Enemies that aren't killed would be affected by stasis and would be frozen in time. I'd be able to move around them and shoot at them with my bow and the arrows would be frozen in time also.
Move limbo to a safe distance and toggle stasis off and watch all the enemies be hit by multiple Lazer beams (from my Sentinel) and arrows at once. It's really cool to see it in action and I like that this ability synergy with limbo was added to the game. Limbo is still a troll-ish warframe, but I believe it's more accidental. 


A couple of examples of this is with his first and fourth abilities, banish and cataclysm. Banish used to affect a single target. Now it moves in a wave like Frosts Ice Wave and hits multiple targets. If another player happens to be in the path of limbo's banish when it's cast, that player will be banished to the rift with the other enemies. Ordinarily, that would be Ok, since the banished player would be able to kill the enemies since they're on the same plane. However, if the limbo player kills the banished targets before the banished player does, the banished player is just stuck in the void for the duration of limbo's banish. This does frustrate players and causes a lot of "stop banishing me limbo" messages from them. 


Moving on to cataclysm, the issue isn't necessarily that it banishes everything to the void, it's that it can instantly kill every enemy once it's cast and  turned off /expires. And if you're a limbo player that uses stasis in conjunction with cataclysm, the surviving enemies are frozen, and so are any projectiles fired until the ability expires or the limbo player turns the ability off. This could frustrate players trying to get any kills for their mission challenges. Some players get around it by killing the enemies with melee attacks, but players who haven't played why a limbo in their squad before will be thrown off by a cataclysm - stasis combo. 

I get that playing with a limbo player could be seen as complicated, but he's actually really useful if he's played with his ability synergy in mind. Even more useful now in my opinion. With how DE reworked Limbo, I'm really looking forward to Oberon's coming rework (and the "priest frame" whenever he comes)
